Dana Kennish "Deke" Smith, FAIA Emeritus has been involved in the facilities and infrastructure industry for almost 50 years and has been involved with computers since the days of mainframes (IBM 360) to include microcomputers. He has been involved with Computer-Aided Design from its inception as well as with the beginning of Building Information Modeling. He has a long background with cost engineering, value engineering, and lifecycle costing beginning in the 1970s. He remains current both nationally and internationally with the latest trends and technologies.
